IVS School of Design
Admissions and campus graphics for a Delhi design school, built on found objects.
A run of graphics for IVS School of Design in Delhi: course advertising, admissions posters, campus announcements and the notices for events on and off campus.
The line the campaign is built on is design is everywhere, and an advertisement that says so has to prove it rather than assert it. So the pictures are ordinary things looked at closely: a pencil shaving opened out until it is a flower, the sort of object already lying on the desk of anyone the ad is speaking to.
The course posters run the other way, into flat graphic silhouette: a camera crew drawn as two figures shooting each other, a spiral of Vastu diagrams, a lit doorway for photography. Each notice takes the colour of whatever it is announcing, so the set is not held together by a palette. What holds it is the mark in the corner and the habit of building every image out of one idea rather than decorating a headline.
